Born in Mexico City, Marcela lives with her family in New York City since 1996. The mother of three children, Marcela has been involved with various educational organizations as member of the board at The IDEAL School of Manhattan (2006-2009), founder of the Parents Association at the IDEAL School of Manhattan (2007), an active member of the Parents Association at Convent of the Sacred Heart and Saint David’s School, and volunteer at Horizon’s at Saint David’s School and Saint Jerome HANDS Community Center in the Bronx.
With a background in Industrial design, Marcela is a co-founder of VIXINUU. An artisanal resort wear brand, produced by communities all across México, whose purpose is to honor Mexican traditions while empowering women to thrive and value their work, and promoting productive enterprises resulting in a better quality of live for these communities.
Sergio Lagunes is a Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at Toro Partners LLC. He graduated from Duke University with his BA in 1997 and from Columbia Business School in 2005 with an MBA in Finance and Economics.
He had worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs before leaving to attend business school. Upon graduation, he joined Blue Ridge Capital (a $9B long/short fund based in New York) where he worked for over a decade as an analyst and Partner on the investment team.
He is a board member of two non-for-profits, Kardias A.C. in Mexico and Harboring Hearts in New York and leads the foundation’s finance committee.
Mr. Lagunes lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
Carlos Madrazo is Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Relations at Panera Brands, one of the world’s largest fast-casual restaurant companies with nearly 4,000 locations in 13 countries. Panera Brands is comprised of Panera Bread, Caribou Coffee, and Einstein Bros Bagels.
Previously, Carlos was the Chief Financial Officer of a Grupo Televisa and Univision unit in the U.S. for distribution of Televisa´s pay-TV networks, followed by a role as the Head of Investor Relations and Sustainability for Grupo Televisa.
Carlos started his career at Chase Manhattan Bank in its Global Mergers and Acquisitions group. He then was recruited by ING Barings to lead its Latin America Media & Entertainment investment banking practice. Carlos has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and the UK, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City.
Carlos is a founding Member of the Board of the Friends of Kardias Foundation, and previously was a Member of the Board of the Televisa Foundation in the U.S., which supports Latinos living in the U.S. through cultural and educational programs.
He is an advocate for inclusion, and a volunteer in Darien Little League’s Challenger Division, a program that enables developmentally and physically challenged youth to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
Carlos lives in New Canaan, CT, with his wife and three daughters.
Gordon Lee is an MD partner at BTG Pactual, where he serves as Mexico Strategist and Senior Analyst covering and the Latin American Real Estate, Cement & Construction, and Media sectors. Gordon has covered Latin American equities since 1994 across a variety of sectors, but always with a focus on Real Estate/Construction.
He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and prior to joining BTG Pactual in 2012 he spent time at UBS/UBS Pactual, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Barings.
